FAQ
How many pictures will I receive?
The number listed with each package is the MINIMUM number of photos you will receive. I edit all the photos that come out and send you the FULL gallery. I do not charge extra for extra photos :)
When will I get my pictures back?
It all depends on how busy I get, but I tend to be pretty excited after a shoot and get to editing them right away. Typical turnaround time is within 2 weeks. If it's a really busy time for me, you will get them back within 3 weeks unless I tell you otherwise.
What should I wear?
Whatever you are most comfortable in! I always say neutrals/blues are a great and safe bet. They always look good without taking away from the beautiful subject (you!). I also really enjoy some bold primary colors with a pattern or two sprinkled into the mix. You can play around with some patterns, but I would keep them simple and not have every person in the shoot wearing a completely different pattern. I would avoid neon colors and black if possible (they don't always edit the easiest). It's really up to your family's style and the vibe you're going for.
It's best to start with the hardest person to dress and base everyone else's outfits off theirs (Mom, for example).
At the end of the day, you need to be comfortable! I can work with anything, but if you're uncomfortable, it WILL show in your face in the pictures. I want to show you off and you're not you if you forced yourself into an outfit you hate.
What is a lifestyle photoshoot exactly?
I get to hang out with your family for an hour or so! Especially for the in-home sessions, I will set the scene and catch those candid connections. I guide you through the whole way, so don't worry at all about not knowing what to do! We often spend time in the living room, kitchen, bedrooms, and porches. My goal is to capture your family's real moments in cuddling on the couch, playing dress up, quiet newborn feedings, making and eating a snack, etc. If it's still a little confusing, reach out!
My home isn't aesthetic enough.
Your home isn't decorated. It's a mess from your toddlers. You started painting, but didn't finish the project... among others. I get it. Life is busy and your home is lived in. Here's the thing. I'm here to take photos of you, your family, your interactions, not the pile of clothes on the floor in the corner. Also something to keep in mind is that one day you will miss the plates with just the remainder of food on you table. One day you will laugh about that ugly yellow paint that you can't imagine why anyone would buy, much less put in the kitchen. Those little details are part of your story. Don't be afraid to be open to seeing it in a beautiful light. I promise I will only show you something that I see as is stunning.
